From May 23rd to 25th, 2023, the famous companies in the field of renewable materials gathered in Siegeburg, Germany to participate in the Renewable Materials Conference 2023. Sugar Energy has been a gold sponsor for three consecutive years.
During the three-day conference, the top experts in the field of global bio-based materials demonstrated effective solutions for the carbon cycle and carbon reduction respectively. On the premise of maintaining the existing chemical industry structure, they continued to promote the conversion of industrial carbon resources from petrochemical carbon to renewable carbon and accelerated the high-quality development of the new chemical industry of novel platform compounds and polymers. The attending experts focused on discussing and exchanging the latest developments in PHA, PLA, PBAT, PBS biodegradation, and furan-based materials (HMF, FDCA, PEF).
Sugar Energy adheres to the development concept of "sugar bio-based, green and sustainable" and introduces the company's corporate values and ideas at the booth.
At present, Sugar Energy has developed more than ten core derivatives that can be widely applied in fields such as high-end engineering plastics based on biology, degradable plastics, environmentally friendly coatings, surfactants, environmentally friendly resins, pharmaceuticals and pesticides, green oil additives, and other fine chemicals.
Professor. Zhang Jian, Chief Scientist of Sugar Energy, introduced the latest progress and strategic layout of Sugar Energy's HMF industry development during the symposium. Dr. Zhang Jian introduced that carbon and hydrogen resources in biomass conversion can be efficiently utilized, but the loss of oxygen resources reduces the atomic utilization efficiency of the entire process. In 2019, Sugar Energy, in conjunction with Ningbo Materials Institute, adopted a two-phase reaction combined with rapid extraction technology and took in completing a pilot-scale demonstration of 10000 tons of HMF per year internationally. Subsequently, it took four years to complete the continuous transformation of reaction separation purification integration, and the HMF yield increased from 92% to 98%, effectively improving the stability of product batches. Dr. Zhang Jian said that Sugar Energy is ready to carry out basic research, technology development, and commercial cooperation with all parties to jointly realize that HMF provides low-cost and high-performance new materials for global carbon neutrality.
During the Renewable Material Conference, Mr. Jin Haitao, Chairman of Sugar Energy, had a deep communication with Michael, the "godfather of bio-based renewable materials" in Europe, gaining a deeper understanding of some frontier technologies in the international community. At the same time, this exhibition also provides a broader platform for sugar energy, providing new ideas for the development and product innovation of sugar energy through international exchanges with the industry. In the future, Sugar Energy will continue to strengthen industry connections and cooperation, actively participate in various international conferences, broaden the company's international perspective, strengthen innovation drivers, and assist in green and sustainable development.
